Summer Mountain Report

Saturday, August 19th – Noon Update

It’s the calm before the Eclipse!  Highs will be in the low 80’s with sunshine ALL DAY.  The weather is perfect for a hike on the new Hoback Trail or a ride along the extensive pathway system.  Rent bikes for the whole family at Teton Village Sports.  Do you know what a lemon glazed waffle with Nutella spread over the top looks like…TOTALITY?  There are many flavors of Top of the World Waffles waiting for you at 10,450 feet above sea level.   Ride the Aerial Tram to the summit of Rendezvous Peak and make exceptional memories during this historic weekend.  Get in a pre-Eclipse Happy Hour at The Deck this evening.  With your Aerial Tram ticket you’ll get the best seating before 5:00 p.m.  Only two more days til the big event at the Big One.

Here's an Eclipse Fun Fact:  Animals get confused during a total eclipse, the temperature drops suddenly and the change in light makes animals think that night is coming.  As the eclipse begins, animals start their evening songs and behavior.  As the eclipse ends birds sing again and you may hear a rooster crow if you're in the country.

Stay informed and remember to plan ahead for your eclipse weekend!    – T.R.
